In a report put out by real estate tech giant Zillow, Dallas Fort Worth has been named as one of the top real estate markets expected for 2019.
Of the top 10 markets named DFW came in at number 7 with a forecasted 8.4% + change in home values. As of November 2018 the median home value was $237,800 and median rent was $1,611. They are also forecasting a 2.9% rise in rental rates.
After seeing a slow down on the number of homes sold in the last few months of 2018 this forecast is a welcoming sight. Although we will not be seeing the tremendous value gains we have been seeing over the past 5 years, we will continue to see values increase at a more sustainable rate.
DFW’s population growth, a strong local economy and ample new job postings all contribute to the real estate market demand. 2019 will be a very important year to watch for the future of the housing market.
